Trusted Labs obtains security accreditation for mobile apps
Versailles, France, Aug. 30, 2012 — Trusted Labs, the expert in security for embedded systems, today announced it is the first to extend its 2011 ISO 17025 accreditation to include security validation of NFC (Near Field Communication) mobile applications.
Trusted Labs, accredited Security Validation Entity by the AFSCM (1) (French Association of Mobile Contactless) since 2009, provides validation services for handset applications (Android, Java TM, iOS) and USIM Java Card TM applications. The objective is to verify that end users privacy and Mobile Network Operators assets are protected in open multi-application environments.
ISO 17025 is the international standard used to certify the competence and quality of evaluation laboratories. This enlarged accreditation (address of accredited site and scope available here) confirms the high level of expertise and guarantees the quality of validation results provided by Trusted Labs, cornerstone of the security risks management on NFC mobile applications. This broadens confidence for customers worldwide.
Trusted Labs methodology is supported by leading-edge static-analysis tools, TL SAT / TL SAVE, which enable a more efficient analysis of mobile applications regardless of the level of information provided source or binary code.
Claire Loiseaux, President of Trusted Labs, comments: This achievement is of significant importance in the NFC world as the control of the applications security will benefit from a recognized methodology and quality level. Creating confidence between operators and service providers is the real added value of our security validation offer.
